On the Water: Boating, Fishing and Swimming
Lake Conroe is known for largemouth bass, and guide services are available if you would rather learn the lake from someone who fishes it daily. Our dock sits in a cove with an open view down the water and quick access to the main lake, so a morning on the water does not start with a long drive to a ramp.
Rent a boat or jet ski

Sunset and dinner cruises
Lake Conroe sunset cruises and Southern Empress themed dinner cruises are a low-effort evening for groups with mixed ages.
Your own beach
Few Lake Conroe homes have a private beach. Ours does, plus a private pool for the afternoons you would rather not pack the boat.

Public sandy beaches with cabanas, food trucks and playgrounds, handy for a change of scenery with kids.
Lakeside Eating and Drinking
You can eat right on the lake or head into town. Papa’s on the Lake serves food and drinks with games, and Conroe Lake House and Monty’s Lighthouse are other lakeside names locals mention. Back in downtown Conroe, the craft scene is deep: B-52 Brewing (outdoor yard games), Fass Brewing, Southern Star Brewing Company, Copperhead Brewery, BE Winery on 15 acres, The Ferm Meadery and Bartlett’s Distillery.
Prefer to stay in? The house has a full kitchen, so a grocery run into Conroe or Montgomery before check-in works well for stays of two weeks or more.
Lakeside Eating and Drinking
The national forest borders the north side of the lake and holds the Lone Star Hiking Trail, the longest continuous hiking trail in Texas at 128 miles. You do not need to hike the whole thing; day sections are an easy way to get out of the sun. W. Goodrich Jones State Forest has nearly 15 miles of trails, plus horseback riding, birding and fishing. The yard at Seahorse Place II has mature trees and room for pets, so a dog-friendly day can start and end at the house.
